Identity
Jinpachi is a half-orc raised by gnomes alongside numerous gnomish siblings. His childhood made him a skilled inventor and tinkerer; his orcish strength remained just as central to the way he solved problems.
He speaks some Ghukliak, though not fluently, and often combines technical instinct with direct physical action. In the mountain prison he restored an ancient network of orb-lights whose design was both centuries old and more advanced than his familiar craft.
The forgotten journey
Jinpachi travelled with Norri and Telson for at least five years before the events of The Journey Back to the Home You Forgot. Immersion in the Mountain Prisoner’s black fluid stripped away his recent memory until distance from the entity allowed it to return.
The Prisoner’s axe
During the fight with the Mountain Prisoner’s humanoid shape, Jinpachi pulled the entity’s axe from a bookcase and struck its shoulder. The wound revealed black liquid rather than mortal blood.
He escaped the collapsing mountain still carrying the weapon. Its true properties were never identified in the surviving campaign record.
Road to Kittleton
After Telson’s sacrifice, Jinpachi agreed that finding the Venerated mattered more than immediately returning home. He and Norri left Gren’s Hollow for Kittleton, carrying both the axe and Telson’s recovered research.
