Elyndra is the generous and unsentimental power of living growth, patron of birth, harvest and communities that feed one another.
Life is tender at the shoot and merciless at the root. Honour both.
Mother of the growing world
Elyndra was shaped to teach life how to continue without constant divine command. She set seed within fruit, milk within the body and healing within flesh, then withdrew far enough that living things could become surprising.
Her motherhood is a title of guardianship rather than gender. She is depicted as a broad figure woven from bark, soil and human warmth, carrying both an infant and a pruning knife.
Gift and appetite
The Green Mother teaches abundance, but never denies that life feeds on life. Harvest is sacred because it acknowledges the exchange; waste is a sin because it takes without becoming sustenance for anything else.
She is hostile to Korr, whose endless feeding imitates a forest while refusing the reciprocity of a true ecosystem. Elyndran wardens often maintain the watched boundaries around the Blood Root.
Field temples
Most shrines are working gardens, orchards or kitchens. A temple that cannot feed a hungry visitor is considered unfinished, no matter how beautiful its altar.
Priests serve as midwives, seed keepers and healers. They preserve local varieties against famine and carry sealed stores into war zones, insisting that next year's planting is as important as today's victory.
The empty place
At every communal feast one place is left empty for the person who has not yet arrived: a child unborn, a stranger on the road or a survivor not yet found. Food from that place is given away before sunset.
Elyndra's blessing is recognized by unexpected green growth after disaster. Her clergy warn that this is not a promise that nothing has been lost. It is the demand that loss not be permitted to end the story.
